‘Catch you Ladder on Floral Dress’ is the name of my new Nasty Gal addition that is making a killer appearance on the blog. The dress, the hat and the sunglasses together are flashing an unmistakable 70s vibe, swanky yet understated. The bell sleeves take the centre stage and are reminiscent of this bygone era with the magnetic coherence of the hat and the glasses perfectly befitting the characteristics of the 70s. So a momentary time travel without the time machine! Yay!!!
My cute dress obsession has customarily revolved around strappy dresses, high hemlines, interesting necklines etc. etc. This ensemble is the creation of a mild experimentation that I undertook. I barely wear full sleeves and this was an adorable pick. Had the hemline been an A-cut, this would have entirely been a 70s number but thanks to the swingy silhouette which is clearly a contemporary twist. Of course, there is a lot more to the 70s style than this one and all of us know the worthiness of the bell-bottoms and everything else within the ‘hippie’ realm. Whatever said, the trend has certainly made a comeback and I love it. I love it also coz that time the fashion was so varied and experimental besides being largely influenced by the then musical genres like the punk, psychedelic, rock, etc. In fact, I am crazy about the 70s music and don’t even get me started.
Coming back to the add-ons, I willingly added the dangling and almost shoulder grazing statement earrings that I totally love. Lately, elements such as thread and fabric in earrings that are sewn along with the embellishments have been such a rage. Have added a stack of red and pink chunky bracelets and they look eclectic under the bell sleeves. I couldn’t put so much thought into the bag as my intention was not really to create a 70s look. I just tugged along my funky River Island tote. Can’t get enough of it. For the footwear, I would have ideally chosen a pair of black boots had it not been summer. For now, I simply settled for a pair of navy Chuck Taylor (Converse) sneakers which are also making a debut in this post. Man, they are comfortable and we will see a lot of it on the blog. I am really getting into a summer state of mind with cute florals, high hemlines and flattering silhouettes worthy of showing off my sun kissed skin!
